EDITORIAL NORMS

Focus and scope

Emerging Trends in Education is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Edited by the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco. Its objective is to create a space for the dissemination of research results in the field of education.

In addition to scientific articles and reviews, the journal publishes interviews with leading academics in the field of education and on topics related to the thematic issues. The journal is aimed at the scientific community and the public interested in educational phenomena that, due to their novelty, could be considered emerging. Only original unpublished papers (scientific research) and reviews, which are not being considered by other journals, are accepted. All published issues are available through the website of the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco in its institutional repository https://revistaemerging.ujat.mx/index.php/emerging/issue/archive. The journal accepts submissions in both Spanish and English.

Frequency of submission and publication

The journal is published semiannually (January-June and July-December), appearing during the first month of the declared period. Submission guidelines can be found in "Guidelines for Authors" in the Submissions section. The reception of articles is permanently open.

Publication charges and costs

Emerging Trends in Education is published electronically and is committed to the free access of scientific knowledge; consequently, it does not charge authors for submission or publication.

Review process

Once the Editorial Committee has determined that the submission complies with all the established requirements, the review process will begin.

Papers submitted for publication in the articles section will be subject to double-blind peer review. Contributions to this section should not contain information that would allow the identification of the author. Therefore, name and affiliation should not appear anywhere in the manuscript. References to the author's previous work should be included in the third person.

The peer review process will take a minimum of four and a maximum of six months. During the evaluation process, the anonymity of the authors and peer reviewers will be guaranteed. Peer reviewers will be academics with national or international recognition in the subject matter of the paper.

Papers submitted for publication in the review section will be subject to a single-blind review system. The Editorial Committee may make recommendations of substance and form that enrich the quality of the work.

Authors are responsible for the changes requested and suggestions made by the reviewers and the Editorial Committee of the journal. All submissions should indicate if there is any conflict of interest, as well as any source of funding received. Articles published here should not have been submitted simultaneously to other journals in order to be considered, nor should they have been published in full-length proceedings, previous electronic publications or in another language. Authors must sign a letter of originality of the article and cession of rights.

Open Access Policies

Emerging Trends in Education adheres to the Open Access policy with the idea of expanding and promoting the circulation and exchange of knowledge, with the conviction of bringing scientific advances to the scientific community immediately, which benefits and enriches the scientific debate. All its articles are under a Creative Commons license and they have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

Anti-plagiarism policy

All manuscripts will be subjected to a rigorous review through a digital tool (Ithenticate) in order to avoid plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

Code of Ethics

Emerging Trends in Education adheres to the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) available at https://publicationethics.org.

Digital preservation policies

The journal Emerging Trends in Education, through digital preservation methods, ensures the intellectual content of electronic documents permanently, maintaining their integrity, authenticity, inalterability, originality, reliability and accessibility; for this purpose, it uses the Institutional Repository of the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco (http://ri.ujat.mx/handle/20.500.12107/3268). It offers open source digital preservation services. In addition, it allows secure sharing of digital content among participating libraries.

Use of interoperability protocols

The journal Emerging Trends in Education incorporates the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol, which allows it to be harvested by other distribution systems. Metadata format: Dublin Core
